Welcome to all our new Poppies family members and welcome back to all those who have been on holiday.

We need to congratulate Sophie on completing her Level 3 childcare qualification, well done Sophie !
Sophie will be staying with us as a member of staff and will primarily be part of the Sunflower team with Debbie and Tracey.
The Bluebell team will continue to be Sue and Bev and the Daisies team will be Michelle and Ruth.

Ofsted

As you know we had an Ofsted Inspection in July and had a Good rating with to 2 points of
development both of which we feel we have addressed.

Holidays

Please can we ask everyone to complete a holiday form when you have holidays booked or confirm arrangements for half term as soon as possible so we can ensure we have the right staffing in place, thanks.
Also, we will be closing on Friday 21st Dec @ 5.30 for the Christmas holidays and re opening on Wednesday the 2nd of January.
Our Christmas party for all families will be on Saturday the 15th December at St Bennets Hall, more details nearer the time.

Photographer

As some of you know we have a professional photographer booked on a Saturday to take family photos – good Christmas presents !!! This year she will be coming on 13.10.18 and you are welcome to book a slot between 9.30 and 12.30 – all family / friends/ pets welcome!!

Decorating

We have had the Sunflower room and bathroom decorated and were very pleased with the work done, many thanks to Ross from ‘Howe to Paint’.

Wet clothes

Please can everyone put a water proof bag (as well as a change of clothes) in their child’s rucksack for wet clothes. We do have swimming bags for sale at £1.50 if you want to purchase one.

Thank you to everyone who offered to help sort out the Sunflower garden after it had been vandalised! We have now repaired the damage but would like to use some of our fund raising money to develop this area further.

We will be holding an Easter raffle to fund raise for this project.

Sport relief

We will be selling ‘squares’ @ £2 each to support this charity week beginning 19th March. We will also be hold a ‘go go disco’ with exercises each day!!

Holidays

Please can everyone who wants to book holidays over Easter complete a holiday slip and return it to us by Fri 2nd of March so we can avoid any confusion, thanks. Those children who never attend in the school holidays will start back week beginning 16th April and do not need to do holiday form.

Wet clothes bags

We are struggling to provide enough plastic bags for wet clothes and it’s not very environmentally friendly! So we have found some waterproof swimming bags for £2and are happy to order them if we have enough interest. Please let us know or provide a bag, thanks.

Michaela

We would like to announce that Cayla is expecting a baby in July – lovely news. congratulations !!
All being well Cayla will stay with us til mid June.

Healthy Eating!

Laura is going to produce a special news letter each term looking at topics linked to healthy eating, including a recipe to try!!

Summer Picnic
We would like to invite you all to our summer picnic on Saturday the 17th June from 11 am until 2pm, you are welcome to bring extended family with you. Please bring your own picnic and rug.
We will be having a cake stall, tombola and other stalls such as face painting and ‘forest schools’.
Also, strawberries and cream!
If you would like to donate any tombola prizes please could you bring them the week before and cakes on the Friday or Saturday morning.

Holidays
Please can we remind you to book your holidays as soon as possible (you will be charged if we do not
have 4 weeks notice)

Living Eggs
We have organised to have an incubator and eggs for the children to watch hatch (hopefully!!).
They arrive on Monday 12th June and hatch over the following two weeks – should be exciting and you do have the option of taking a chick home !!

September 2017
September will see the introduction of the government scheme to offer 30hrs free childcare to 3 and 4 year olds. To accommodate this we are changing our admissions policy and our contracts and we will be asking you to opt for a ‘term time only’ or ‘all year’ contract – Sue or Debbie will talk to you all individually to explain!!

Also, in September the fees will increase as follows:

0-2yrs £5.10
2 – 3yrs £5.00
3 – 5 yrs £4.75
Breakfast £1.00
Lunch £2.60
Tea £1.75

Baby weaning foods or special diets prepared at home £1.00 (if home food needs cold storage/ reheating).

We have some vacancies in the baby and 2 yr old rooms for September at the moment.

We have a new website, we hope you agree it has a more ‘up to date’ look, although some of the photos still need replacing!!!

30hours free childcare

This is a new scheme the government are introducing in September for 3-4 year olds who’s parents are both working (at least 16 hrs a week). There is a new tax free vouchers scheme for working parents too. You can find out more details on website: childcare-support.tax.service.gov.uk

Dates

2.3.17 World Book Day; we will be celebrating by asking children to bring their favourite books from home any day that week. Also, children are always welcome to borrow books from nursery – just ask your key person.

20.3.17 –Easter we will be selling raffle tickets to raise funds for plants for our vegetable garden. Prizes will be on display in entrance.

24.3.17 Red Nose Day.

We will be having some fun activities and suggest dressing in pyjamas – £1 each
